Coach Kayla has been involved in both gymnastics and cheerleading since she was 7 years old. She started in recreational gymnastics and competed for the Beloit YMCA. In high school, she stayed connected to gymnastics through coaching while running track and participating in cheerleading. Her time in college was spent cheerleading, however, once again she remained active in gymnastics through coaching. Kayla is inspired by the support that she has always received from her parents in her choice to be a gymnastics coach. Kayla understands that coaching gymnastics is not just about teaching a physical skill; teaching gymnastics provides valuable life skills to her students. Her favorite gymnastics memory was when she had the opportunity to meet Olympian Amanda Borden at the YMCA Nationals.
