Coach Mendel was a four year high school Gymnast and Varsity squad captain, Wrestling and Cross Country athlete, and a Strength and Conditioning program leader. Mendel believes gymnastics requires the realization that perfection – striving for its unattainable end – is unrealistic, yet teaches principles of perseverance in the struggle to be perfect. This struggle reflects situations which occur throughout life that must be dealt with in much of the same manner. He has devoted many years towards achieving such feats and goals. Through his training and experience, Mendel has learned to provide a structure for living that mirrors the accomplishments he has striven to attain. Mendel enjoys coaching gymnastics because of the foundation and structure it provides early within one’s life that carries throughout and beyond gymnastics itself.
