Skill Check
What is a Skill Check Week?
- A progress update on the key skills your child is learning in their current class
- These key skills represent a selection of the curriculum’s foundational skills, not every skill will be checked
- Your child’s progress will be available for you to view in your Parent Portal within a week of their class date
How can I access my child’s skill check?
- Login to the Parent Portal
- Your children will appear on the Dashboard under “My Schedule”
- Select the child you would like to see by clicking on the “view (your child’s name)”
- To see their skill check information, click on the word “skills” or the star on the right side
- Click on “View Skill Details” on the Skill Check box for their current level
HOW IS MY CHILD’S PROGRESS TRACKED?
Next to each Key Skill checked you should find one of the following notes –
- Unable to complete skill without an additional mat or a spot
- Completes skill inconsistently or without good form
- Completes skill consistently with good form (marked as attained)
How/when will my child move up?
- Your child’s instructor will recommend them for a one on one move up evaluation when they can consistently complete all skills with good form.
- Coaches continuously monitor student progress
- Skill check is not directly related to move up evaluations
What if my child is absent?
- Your child may attend a make-up within the same skill check week for their class level, only if they are unable to attend their regular class time
- If your child is absent and cannot attend a make-up within the skill check week, their coaches will continue to monitor progress; however, updates will not be recorded in JackRabbit

Why are Boys and Girls Advanced Rec not doing a Skill Check?
Advanced Rec is our highest instructional level. Students in this level are working on a variety of skills for each of their ability levels at each event. If you would like specific feedback on the skills your child is working on, please let us know.
