Competitive Dance
JOIN THE ELITE FLEET THIS SEASON!
Viking Gymnastics & Dance is the proud home of the Viking Dance Company, our competitive dance program. Each company branch will group dancers into routines based on their skill level and experience at auditions. Auditions are by instructor invitation only. All auditioning dancers must be currently enrolled within the dance program. New dancers interested in joining are encouraged to take technique classes to earn an invitation to company from their instructor.
Eligibility for company nominations is also determined by age as of September 1, 2020.
- SUPER ELITE DANCE CO. (Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical or Musical Theater, Ages 6+)
- ELITE STREET CREW (Hip Hop only, Ages 7+)
All Dancers are required to be enrolled in regular technique classes in addition to weekly rehearsals for competitions.
The Viking Dance Company proudly adheres to age appropriate choreography, music, and costumes. Our emphasis is on stage presence and precision while striving for continual growth and improvement over perfection, both at the individual and group levels. What is Viking Dance Company?
VDC is a creative and expressive physical outlet for dancers who want to be more involved with the art and seek to develop their technical virtuosity and stage presence through adjudicated performance opportunities. Students must audition to not only experience an audition process, but also to be evaluated and placed accordingly to technical strengths and abilities. VDC is for dedicated dancers that are interested in accelerating their training and performance artistry.
Viking Dance Company Philosophy:
Members of the Viking Dance Company (VDC) serve as role models for our recreational students and are positive ambassadors both inside and outside the studio. Dance Company members display technical rigor, a diligent work ethic, good sportsmanship and creative artistry while embodying the values of positivity, teamwork, and leadership. Viking Dance Company adheres to age appropriate choreography, music and costumes. We emphasize confident stage presence and precision while striving for continual growth and improvement over perfection, both at the individual and group levels.
