Instructional Gymnastics

Viking Gymnastics’ recreational programs are designed to teach your child gymnastics in a welcoming atmosphere, filled with positive reinforcement. Emphasis is placed on developing listening and problem solving skills while learning the key elements of the sport.

Girls’ Classes
Viking Gymnastics girls’ recreational classes are for ages 6 and above. Your daughter will be grouped by her individual ability level. The student to instructor ratio is kept small in the beginner and intermediate classes – allowing every child to get individualized instruction.

Gymnasts begin in the Purple level class where they learn the techniques and fundamental skills that are used for all four Olympic apparatus: the Vault, the Uneven Bars, the Balance Beam, and the Floor Exercise. Level advancement is based on ongoing evaluation. Our levels in order are:
Purple, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Advanced

Dress code for girls is a leotard and fitted shorts. Hair must be tied up out of the face.

Boys’ Classes
Viking Gymnastics boys’ recreational classes are for ages 6 and above. The student/instructor ratio is kept small – allowing every child to get individualized instruction.

Gymnasts begin in the Purple level class where they learn the techniques and fundamental skills that are used for all six Olympic apparatus: the Floor Exercise, the Pommel Horse, the Rings, the Vault, the Parallel Bars, and the High Bar. Level advancement is based on ongoing evaluation. Boys will progress from the Purple level to the Silver level class and then on to the Advanced level.

Dress code for boys is a t-shirt and shorts.
